Hello, 你好 nei5 hou2!
I am originally from Hong Kong and have been living in New York City for 20+ years! I can speak, read and write Chinese (Cantonese, Traditional characters). I had taught Cantonese in the past as a side gig, and had also taught ESL and computers for a non-profit for 2 years.
The Cantonese language is not as difficult as people make it out to be, basic grammar is very much like English (Subject + Verb + Object).
For our lessons, depending on your level, goals and learning preference, we can use books to practice, songs to learn vocabularies and tones or just to chat. I am more than happy to give you writing homeworks as well! 睇吓你情度係咩, 我哋可以用書, 歌, 或者傾計. 仲可以教你寫字比功課你做 :) tai2 haak3 nei5 cing4 dou6 hai6 me1 , ngo5 dei2 ho2 ji5 jung6 syu1 , go1 , waak6 ze2 king1 gai3 . zung6 ho2 ji5 gaau3 nei5 se2 zi6 bei2 gung1 fo3 nei5 zou6 :)
During shelter-in-place, aside from looking for jobs in the real estate/finance field, I am spending my time to obtain the Google IT certificate (Python programming language), and making pancakes using my sourdough starter--yum.
Oh, here is a Spotify Cantonese playlist of mine :)
I hope to hear from you soon and help you learn or improve your Cantonese!
